Fact-Based Campaign – Short Animation
For this school project, I created a short fact-based animation using vector graphics developed in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects. The project was inspired by how public institutions such as Statistics Sweden communicate data, instructions, and societal information on digital screens in public environments.
The assignment began with choosing a direction, where I selected food waste awareness for the fictional organization Hållbar Mat Sverige. The goal was to transform factual information into a clear and engaging visual message suitable for digital out-of-home displays.
The animation follows key principles typical for this type of communication: simple and clean graphics, short and focused messaging, and a silent presentation designed to be quickly understood by passersby. Strong visual hierarchy and clear motion were essential to ensure the message could be grasped within seconds.
The final animation is 10 seconds long and produced in a vertical 1080 × 1920 format. It includes a key fact supported by custom vector illustrations created in Illustrator, brought to life through subtle and purposeful motion in After Effects.
This project demonstrates my ability to translate data and informational content into effective motion design, balancing clarity, aesthetics, and timing for public-facing digital campaigns.
